- These Single use, disposable paper coffee cups are constructed with two parts - the inner cup and an outer "grooved" sleeve that's glued onto the inner cup.
- What makes these cups different from basic paper hot cups is that they've got two different layers of material between a customer's hand and a hot beverage.
- The added layer slows down and decreases heat transfer, making it more comfortable to hold when using direct pour drinks likes black coffee or an americano.
- While 2 layer or "double wall" cups also exist - these are a little different in that they use "grooves" to create additional distance and airflow between the inner and outer wall.
- The grooves create less contact between your hand and the inner cup, which leads to less "conductive" heat transfer (through direct contact).
- Air channels are also created by grooves, helping to reduce "convection heat" from the inner cup that's in direct contact with a hot beverage.
