There's a popular movement towards sustainability in both the world at large as well as the packaging industry. Using sustainable products for your food helps to signal to your customers that you also share in the desire to cut down on plastic pollution, and to provide products that can be recycled or composted. These biodegradable containers are also an attractive way to show off your products; the bases are sturdy with a clean white color, and the clear lids display the foods inside.
Biodegradable Takeout Bowl Bases
The bases of these bowls and containers is made from compostable sugar cane fiber. This is harvested as a byproduct of the sugar refining process, and is free of material from trees and plastics. The material used in the construction of these disposable bowls allows for composting in BOTH the home and commercial facilities. They are also safe for use in the freezer and microwave, and even stand up to greasy or oily foods. The thick fibrous material used in construction offers cut resistance as well, making our biodegradable takeout boxes some of the best in the industry.
Clear Lids vs Compostable Bowl Bases
The lids for these compostable bowls are not compostable like the bases. The clear lids are produced using a material called "polyethylene terephthalate", more commonly referred to as P.E.T. It's a lightweight plastic and although it isn't compostable, it is completely recyclable and BPA free, making it part of our movement toward sustainability. The clear lid is important for many grab-n-go uses, allowing the customer to see the products inside and increasing the visual appeal of the products.
