Leak Resistant Bowls
The bowl bases themselves are leak resistant. They won't hold thin liquid forever, but for the purposes of serving takeout food, they will hold sauces, dressings, stews etc. A great use case would be as burrito bowl: a mix of drier ingredients like meat and rice, topped with wet ingredients like melted cheese or salsa will not leak through the bowls for an extended period of time, making them perfect for takeout or to go orders.

Bagasse Material & Sustainability
Bagasse [buh·gas] - is the fibrous plant material left over from sugarcane production. The sugarcane is crushed to extract the juice, and a dry pulp is left behind. This makes these bowls eco-friendly, as they use recycled byproduct AND a renewable material (versus petroleum based plastics). These particular disposable bowls go a step further towards sustainability by taking carbon footprint into consideration by using aerodynamic trucking transport practices, optimum supply chain logistics, and by using a production material that absorbs carbon dioxide just by virtue of being a plant material.

The bagasse oval bowls meet American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications.
