Paper Straws and Compostable Straws

What are the advantages of paper straws?

Paper straws have several advantages over traditional plastic straws, including:

• Environmentally Friendly: Since they're made of paper, the straws are BOTH biodegradable and compostable. So they're broken down by nature and don't harm the environment - much like their plastic counterparts which take a long time to break down.
• Responsibly Sourced: Paper is considered a renewable resource, especially when sourced from recycled materials or from sustainably managed forests.
• Safer: We've all see the video of the turtle with a plastic straw stuck in its nose - paper straws break down too quickly to pose the same threat.
• Durable: While they're not quite as durable as plastic straws, the high quality paper straws can serve their purpose for long enough to still be effective while not being an environmental problem later.
• Look and Feel: There are a lot of people that prefer a more natural or vintage looks that these straws provide - versus plastic straws that can come off as "cheap."
